This fantastic original Roy Hattersley Spitting Image puppet came to me to be restored. It was in a bad condition after many years of use and deterioration of the foam latex.

The puppet face was very crumbly and fragile all over with several cracks. In particular his eyes had collapsed completely, this meant that the blink mechanism was redundant. His mouth had also collapsed meaning his 'spitting' tubes were hanging loose. I was able to rebuild and restore the puppet whilst being very careful not to alter the original features and he now has fully functioning mechanisms.

The only section which did have to be replaced was a thin foam layer of his torso which had completely rotten over time. As this is hidden under his clothes it was not an obvious repair. This was replaced with replica foam.

Please take a look at the video below to see the full restoration with commentary by the original Spitting Image voice artist Steve Nallon! Steve very kindly offered to give my video a personalised voice over and the finished product is fantastic!

If you have any restoration requirements please contact me to discuss.
